fun/challenging whole-body moves that won't kill knees?

Hi everyone. Like [personal profile] calligrafiti, I'm having trouble with owie knees, so I'm trying to be creative with my exercise. And I'm bored - my favorite gym buddy moved out of town and lately I can't get motivated by my normal routine. I decided to try doing some Turkish get-ups this afternoon and OW OW OW MY KNEES. One was more than enough. I substituted one-handed side presses since I can do them with my legs straight.

Anyone have creative, preferably full-body weighted moves that aren't going to kill my knees? I feel like I need a break of a week or two doing totally different stuff from my standard rows, presses, push-ups and RDLs.

Windmills! Your legs stay straight, so your knees should be happier with them.

One-legged deadlifts, if you want a fun balance challenge. And if you've got something to hang off, it could be a good time to work towards a pull-up (or towards more pull-ups, if you can already do one).
