*waves*

hello all - was looking around and found this place.

I like lifting weights and I have been doing the CLX program for a while now and I do like it but I want to mix things up a bit

I want to pick up the NROLFW, but I have to admit I like the concept of a video to follow along with (I use free weights up to 25 lbs each - I want to get ones that go to fifty but they are $$)

I do have access to a gym in my apartment complex but it has one of those machines that does everything. nice for high weights but I do like free weights

I mix up the weights with cycling, dance and yoga and I see a trainer once a week who helps combine weights with running and jump rope and balance exercises on the bosu ball

looking for inspiration and new things to try so I don't get bored.

anyway - HI!

Well, anything involving balancing a weight over my head is scary, I find. *g*

But start with a really light weight, or no weight at all (I've heard some people suggest starting by balancing a shoe on the palm of your hand) while you learn the stages of the movement. Then you can up the weight gradually.

TGUs really work all the little stabilizing muscles in the shoulders, and for me they've been brilliant at building my confidence for doing skilled and scary things with weights.
