42.5kg bench press! For 2 reps, then a rest, then 3 reps.
That's 93.5lb. I am *this* close to benching 100lb.
I would have tried for an even 45kg, but I didn't want to tempt fate without a spotter, and I haven't quite gotten to the point in my gym confidence where I can ask the cute gym staff member with the buzzcut if she can spot me.
I'm meeting with my trainer on Monday, I'll see what happens then. (Probably what will happen is that he'll immediately switch me to inclined bench presses because I've been doing the same exercise all year and my body's long since adapted, but I'll see if I can persuade him to at least let me get 45 first.)
