Hi all,
I have just finished the first round of my attempts to get stronger, initially through the Ladies Who Lift set of classes. The last one was all about the one rep maxes! Sally, AKA Gubernatrix, is a very good teacher for the nervous, takes you straight to the squat rack and gets you lifting. I'd heartily recommend her classes if you can make them.
Anyway, I'm very proud to be now regularly including back squats and deadlifts into my nascent exercise routine and delighted to have hit 105kg on back squat (bodyweight, yay!) and 80kg on deadlift - both only for one clean rep, I should add!
Not something I would have considered even three months ago. I'm really enjoying strength training and hoping I manage to stick with it.
