I just wanted to thank you for the links--I read and reread this material while I was whacked out on pain meds for weeks. Last week I had follow-up, got my stitches out and was put into a lower leg cast (up to just below the knee) and they gave me a knee roller. I HATE this thing--it presses uncomfortably on the leg, and since my fibula is broken up near the knee it makes me nervous, though they said it's fine to use. I vastly prefer the crutches. That said--I kneel on the thing, so obviously I'm allowed to use my knee. I am doing sort of little half-squats when I'm on my scooter (with the brakes on). That leg and particularly the hip flexor are really fatigued most of the time, and the later in the day we get, the more tired it is. I am losing muscle mass in the quad and hamstring and it looks and feels really bizarre.

I am really tired of being an invalid! But every time I try to do something normal, like go to work for a few hours, I'm evidently "doing too much" because I'm so exhausted I can barely crutch up one flight of stairs to my apartment. Someone has to stand behind me in case I get wobbly.
