I made it to the gym to lift barbells, and didn't sulk too much about the fact that having stomach flu earlier in the week has knocked my strength down a bit. I'm starting to learn front squats, too.
And I'm still learning clubbell stuff -- I can almost do a decent clubbell mill now!
I wrestled the big, heavy mattress again. I will probably end up doing it this coming week, too. Once again, I did not do any significant number of reps with it.
I am feeling a little, tiny bit better and I've been pushing off from the wall, trying to get some stamina back. No stretchy-rubbery-thing exercises, because my dexterity has plummeted to the point where I am too likely to suddenly let go and randomly hit myself in the face. It's hard to mishandle an entire wall, though, so I have been using that, and my own muscle tension, to work against.
This weekly post was in my mind, actually, while I was checking under the bed for something, and has made me more mindful and more likely to put time in to working my muscles. I might be at the bottom end of the achievement scale, but anything really is better than nothing, at least for self-esteem-raising purposes.
I finally got an orientation in how to use the free weights properly, and discovered that a) I had been doing squats wrong; and b) that's probably why I have tendonitis in my right foot. Having stopped doing them that way, I already feel better. :)
I only hit the weights room twice this week, thanks to a slightly rough final self-defense lesson that left me with a bruised sternum and dodgy shoulder.
Squats are improving vastly, both in depth and weight, and I can now get to nearly full depth with 75 lbs.

I have a cough and chest pains, so NO HEAVY LIFTING for me until I am better. The bed will just have to collapse.
