I was like this for a long time. My daughter died (23yo) in late 2019, then there was covid, during which I first worked out in my tiny apartment, then bought a condo and moved...I tried out a couple of gyms near my new place and thought I had settled on one, then we had the 2021-22 winter covid surge and I got kind of creeped out (it always smelled bad in there and I was like, how bad IS the ventilation?). I have a stationary bike in the basement and some weights but nothing like what I need to really lift consistently. Then finally last summer I moved to a better gym but I was just kind of fucking around for about six months, then Reddit convinced me what I really needed was a program and a cut, so I did a little cut and started BBB, it got boring fast so I tried GZCLP and burned out after 2.5 weeks. My body was so tired, that third week I couldn't pick up my T1 weights. The fourth week I halfheartedly did 50% of my weight and skipped one session.
I just started SBS hypertrophy, not aggressively, only 3x a week, because hypertrophy is something I haven't tried and hopefully I won't get bored. There are women at my gym who can lift a damn MOOSE and I'm over here squatting with an empty bar. And the air quality here has been shit for two months so I'm not out on my bike, either. When I'm not in the gym I'm reading or surfing because I really want to leave town, get a different job, etc.
Oh and I keep hurting myself. Little hurts, but the kind that make you limp, so you don't want to do anything slightly vigorous.
